How to sublimate on our sublimatable hat patches.
First you will need some supplies:
A lint roller, or something sticky to remove any possible fuzzies from the patch
The hat patches themselves
The sublimation transfers you plan on using
Heat tape
some type of paper, we used butcher paper.
Once you have all your supplies you can take your lint roller and roll the front side of the patches (the side you will be putting the design on):
Then tape your design onto the patch, with the patch face down. Make sure you ONLY tape the edge (the back part) and not the paper that is covering the patch. You do not want the tape to pull the paper covering off the patch:
Now take your patch, face down like the pic above, and place it onto butcher paper that is placed on the heat press (pic below);
Heat press settings:
temp 390°F
time 60 seconds
medium pressure
These settings may be a little different for you and your press. If your patch is turning out to light I would suggest 10-20 seconds more on time.
Remove the patch and the sublimation transfer right away after pressing. Pull it straight off so you do not get ghosting:
Let it set for at least an hour before adhering to a hat.
